You can read a detailed new report here prepared for the International Franchise Association Educational Foundation about the outlook for the business franchising industry in 2011. In short, the report forecasts positive but very slow growth in 2011 with the number of franchise businesses growing about 2.5% which should produce approximately 20,000 new franchise businesses.
Not surprisingly the report also states that franchising growth in 2010 was very sluggish because of the economic down turn and that biggest challenge to growth in 2011 will continue to be the tight small business lending market.
